JoAnn C. Chang, M.D.

JoAnn Cong Yin Chang, M.D. is a Cornea Specialist, Cataract and LASIK Surgeon at Eye Surgeons of Worcester. Dr. Chang earned her Medical Degree at The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, followed by an Internship in Internal Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin. She then completed a Residency in Ophthalmology at The University of Chicago Hospitals, Department of Ophthalmology and was chosen to attend a Fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at the John Moran Eye Center at the University of Utah. Dr. Chang provides Laser Vision Correction for nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism such as LASIK and PRK, as well as lens implants for vision correction such as the Visian™ ICL. Dr. Chang provides routine and complex cataract surgery and is recognized for her compassion with cataract patients in need of laser cataract surgery and applying advances in lens implants for providing vision correction using near vision presbyopia correcting multifocal lens implants such as the Symfony® & Tecnis® Multifocal Lens Implants and the AcrySof® ReSTOR® Multifocal Lens Implant as well as lens implants to correct astigmatism after cataract surgery.

In addition Dr. Chang is a Corneal Specialist with expertise in the diagnosis & treatment of corneal disease, cornea trauma and surgical complications including the Corneal Transplantation techniques of Penetrating Keratoplasty (PK), Deep Anterior Lamellar Keratoplasty (DALK), Decemet's Stripping Automated Endothelial Keratoplasty (DSAEK) and Decemet's Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty (DMEK).

Dr. Chang is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO), a member of the Alpha Chi Honor Society and has received First Honors from the American Society of Clinical Pathology. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Association for Vision Research in Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS).
